Configuring Alerts via SMS/Email

A geo-fence could be dynamically generated—as in a radius around a store or point location. Or a geo-fence can be a predefined set of boundaries.

Event based alerts

Event based alerts are the alerts for ignition, ac, gps, SOS, door etc.

Periodic alerts

In Periodic alert we get alerts in interval of time like 1 hr, 2 hr, 12 hr or 24 hr. In this report we get the current status of vehicle on which time the alert is generated.

How to configure alerts

In this section we see how to configure each alert.

Adding contact

  1. Open Add Contact page: Follow the menu as Utilities > Add Contact

  1. Filling up the details:

    In add contact there are four fields.

    • Name: In this field we have to write a unique name like “user@”.
    • Type: In this field we choose the type of alert either email or sms.
    • Creator: It is for identifying who have registered the contact.
    • Value: It is the email address if we select email as type or mobile number if we select sms as type.

Note

Best way of adding contact is to register it on user account for which you want to give alert

  1. Submitting the data: To submit the data click on the Save changes button available at the bottom of the form, after you ensure all the data f illed in is correct.
  2. Registration completed: Once you click on finish button the system will perform the
  3. Registration completed: Once you click on finish button the system will perform the data validation strongly and if everything is good, the d evice will be registered and a success message will be displayed.

Listing contact

  1. Open List Contact page: Follow the menu as Utilities > List Contact

As you can see in the figure the added contact will be shown in the list.

Modifying contact

You can modify contact from operation column by clicking on edit icon.

As you can see in the above figure after clicking on edit icon the edit contact window will be shown. You can update the details as you want.

Deleting contact

You can delete any contact by clicking on remove icon.

Configuring event based alerts

What is Event based alert? Event based alerts are the alerts for ignition, ac, gps, SOS, door etc. After configuring contact (shown above) we have to configure Notification.

As you can see in above figure in Notification registration there are three fields.
  • Alert type - It contains protocol with the alert name.

    TK103-IG-ON => ignition on alert for protocol TK103.
    
  • Device - It shows the list of all devices.

  • Contact - It shows the contact you have registered.

After registering notification you will be able to get alert on the vehicle which you have been selected.

Note

Best way of adding Notification is to register it on user account for which you want to give alert.

Configuring periodic alerts

What is Periodic Alert? In Periodic alert we get alerts in interval of time like 1 hr, 2 hr, 12 hr or 24 hr. In this report we get the current status of vehicle on which time the alert is generated. For getting periodic alert we have to configure periodic alert after configuring contact.

  • Account: It contains the list of all users.
  • Device: It shows the list of all devices.
  • Contact: It shows the contact you have registered.
  • Frequency:You can choose the time you want for receiving alert.

After registering Periodic Alert you will be able to get alert on the vehicle which you have been selected.

Configuring geofence based alerts

In geofence registration there are four fields.
  • Device: It shows the list of all devices.
  • Geofence:It contains the list of all geofence which has been registered by the user.
  • Contact: It shows the list of contact registered.
  • Type: It contains types of geofence.
    • GEO_IN: Enter
    • GEO_OUT:Out
    • BOTH: Both alert

After registering Geofence Alert you will be able to get alert on the vehicle which you have been selected.
